Boron phosphide is an inorganic compound that contains boron element (BP), and phosphorus element (BP), which falls under the umbrella of a semiconductor material. Henri Moisan, an French chemist who created crystals from boronphosphate in 1891. Although Boronphosphide doesn’t react to boiling concentrated acids or base solutions, it may react after heating with molten bas (e.g. sodium hydroxide). Boron-phosphide reacts well with chlorine gas up to 500degC and is therefore resistant to oxygenation. While the compound is stable under pressure of 2500degC at high temperature, partial phosphorus can be lost via vacuum heating of above 1100degC. The result is B12p11.8. Its crystal structure is comparable to that of Boron carbide.

Because of the many production processes, boron-phosphide comes in different colors: red transparent, dark transparent, black, and soft, browny amorphous. Chemically stable. Pure Boron phosphide can be almost transparent. N-type crystals have an orange-red color, while P-type crystals appear dark. It is trusted worldwide

While Boron phosphide will not react to boiling concentrated acid, alkali solution or any alkali solution, it is capable of reacting with moltenalkali (such sodium hydroxide).

Preheating is not necessary. Boron Phosphide can be exposed to air and is highly resistant to oxygen below 1000°C. It also reacts well with chlorine at 500°C.

It can remain stable at 2500 °C under high pressure. Some phosphorous will be lost by vacuum heating of more than 1100 °C.

Get B12P1.8. It has the same crystal structure as boron caride.
