It is water soluble and can be used either as the main surfactant, or as a sub-surfactant for transparent formulations. Its pH value ranges from 4.5 to 6.5, which is weakly acidic. This is similar to the pH value in the human body. The surfactant can be combined with many other surfactants and has good biodegradability. It is able to be combined with other surfactants or as a sub-surfactant of a sulfateless formulation. It’s widely used for personal washing, skin care products including shampoo, soap, soap for shaving, soap for baby bath products and soap for beauty.
