Fe3O4 (inorganic compounds) is chemically made of Fe3O4. Fe3O4 is sometimes called magnetic iron dioxide due to its magnetic black crystal. This isn’t ferrous iron metaferrite [FeO2(2)2] so it can’t be classified alongside iron oxide (Fe2O3). But it could be called ferrous oxide. Iron oxide is mixed with iron dioxide (FeO*Fe2O3). This substance is not soluble in water or alkaline solutions. It can also be insoluble in organic solvents, such as ether. It cannot be dispersed in acid solutions. If the air is damp, natural ferricoxide will easily transform into iron oxide (Fe2O3). It’s used as a colorant and polishing agent.

Fe3O4 Powder: The Key Features

It has an melting temperature of 1597degC. Its density is 5.18g/cm3. It doesn’t dissolve in water. It’s also called magnetite.

Ferromagnetic ferrimagnetic compound goes through a second order phase transition at Curie Temperature. The compound becomes paramagnetic once it has undergone this transformation. Curie temperature is 585. Iron wire can be heated in oxygen to form ferric dioxide. Fe3O4’s thermodynamic stabilities were higher than that of iron oxide. Therefore, Fe3O4 was the final product. Iron oxides may form when iron comes into contact with oxygen. Different oxide films have different chemical compositions. Three different oxide films can be applied to low carbon steel. You can put FeO on one side, and Fe2O3 on the other. In the middle, Fe3O4 can be found. An oxide film can be made from a combination of both solid and saturated solutions. It is possible for an oxide film to be thickened depending on the environmental conditions that were used. An oxide film made of iron relative in dry and room temperatures does not exceed 20 angstroms. In humid conditions, the oxide film thickness may increase and can cause rust spots. Deposition occurs in layers. A layer of amorphous hydrous material that has been densely deposited near the metal side is known as the “layer”. It is more difficult to recognize the “layer” on the opposite side of the air because it has thicker and more porous water hydration. Fe3O4 is created when watervapor reacts with iron. The anti-corrosion property of Fe3O4 can be found in its properties. Sometimes called baking, blueing is the process of removing steel from its surfaces. It involves the application of an alkaline-oxidizing mixture that creates the blue-black (or dark Blue Fe3O4) coat on steel surfaces. This is a coating that provides beauty and protection against corrosion.

Application of Fe3O4

1. Iron oxide is the most commonly used type of magnetic material.

2. You can use a specially-made pure iron dioxide to make recording tapes, or any other type of telecommunications equipment.

3. You can use this to coat primers or topcoats.

4. Iron catalyst is manufactured from ferric oxide which is the main raw material.

5. The field of domestic welding recognizes iron oxide. We are just beginning to produce wires, and electrodes. This is a huge market.

6. Because it is strong magnetic and has high specific gravity, this product excels in wastewater treatment.

7. Furthermore, ferric oxide can be used as a polishing or pigment.
